How I ‘Unstuck” My Paypal Withdrawn Funds

If you are one of those who withdraw your paypal funds to your credit card, do remember to use the card once in a while. I forgot to use the card and some of my funds got stuck at VISA. Oh, you’ll know it’s stuck when you dont see the money credited to your credit card in a few days time. Now, here’s what i did to retrieve my locked up funds.
First, i emailed Paypal Support and told them what happened. Let them know in detail which particular withdrawal you are referring. Tell them the date, the transaction id, amount etc. After checking my account, theyemailed back and told me the money is already processed. I got impatient and decided to call them up instead.
After talking to them, and making sure which transaction i am referring to, i received an email from Paypal two days later with a Reference Code of the transaction involved. I am to provide this to my credit card issuer. And so, i called up HSBC, and told them all the yadda yadda yadda and even faxed the email over to them. Now after this, it’s goinf to take around tem days for your funds to get cleared.
The fund was actually being held by VISA, who claimed that my card was dormant and it’s unnatural to have funds being “refunded” (The withdrawn funds are treated as refunds), when there’s no activity or transactions being carried out on the card. I was advised to use my credit card at least once. I did so, and informed HSBC of the transaction and amount. I saw my funds credited into my credit card after a few days. iHappy!!!
I have to thank a very helpful HSBC customer service officer by the name of Thana, for being ever so patient on this particular matter. She called me up every few days to assure me my case is being taken care of and explained to me the procedure and steps taken. In all, HSBC has been a great bank and credit card issuer. Now, if they’ll upgrade me to Platinum status like my other credit card issuers, i’ll use your card more, lol.
