I read on Malaysiakini that Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has been accused of lying about the 2009 financial outlook for the country and Malaysians are warned to brace for the worst.

‘Fellow citizens, don’t listen to the Badawi regime’s fairy tales. Prepare for the worst and the worst is yet to come,’ warns Mathias Chang, Dr. M’s ex-aide.

Both hubby and i have been discussing this issue for months. It’s apparent that Badawi caused an inflation when he raised the price of petrol drastically to Rm2.70/ltr back in June. As a result, price of almost every single product escalated. Cost of living shot up overnight. Our Ringgit is depreciating by the day and yet, we still read that our economy is good, the stock market is stable, we can withstand the global economic downturn, we have enough jobs for retrenched workers from neighboring countries, lies, more lies, blatant lies…. ptuiii.

How can the average citizen survive when their take home pay can no longer cover their monthly expenses. And to lower EPF contributions by a few percentage is a real joke. C’mon, gimme a break. What can an extra 60 bucks or so for the average wage earners do to help? With the extra money in the pocket, dont forget it’s also taxable. So, did they tell you how much more you have to pay in terms of taxes if you were to contribute only 8% to your EPF? Geee… my math is bad, dont ask me to calculate. I dont pay taxes :p

In a way, no matter how unpatriotic you say i am, i’m just glad that i dont work for Ringgit. Let the Ringgit float against the US dollar. The higher it goes, the happier i become. I’m now getting Rm3.58 for every USD1 that i make online. I’m just waiting for the day it surpasses the Rm3.8 mark, when it was pegged way back in 1998 when the market crashed. Will it happen? I dont know. I HOPE SO!!!! Go ahead and hate me. With some chimps leading the country, Like Hell I Care.

    NOT ONLY THE PRIME MINISTER LIES, ACTUALLY MANY MINSTERS LIE. IT’S ALL RIGHT, TO THEM IT’S ONLY NORMAL. THEY HAVE BEEN LYING TO US FOR MORE THAN 50 YEARS. PM SAID NO GENERAL ELECTION YET, NEXT DAY DISSOLVE PARRLIAMENT. PM SAID ONLY INCREASE PUMP PRICE OF PETROL AND DIESEL NEXT YEAR. THEN DAYS ON, BIG INCREASE IN PETROL AND DIESEL PRICES.
