Optimizing ad placements

As it was a public holiday yesterday, Labor’s day to be exact, i took the day off to tweak my blogs a bit. I changed some ads placements and boy, was i glad i did that. In one of my posts a few days back, i meantioned how i changed this blog’s template but forgot to add in the ads codes. My earnings plummeted badly. It shot up back to normal once i placed them where they should be.
Still, i wasnt really satisfied. I was ranking well for a few keywords on a few other blogs but they just dont seem to convert well. I keep staring at my CTR hoping to find out why it’s so low when i’m ranking so well on the SERPS. Totally dissatisfied with their performance, i went on to change a few more templates and switched a few ads sizes and tweaked them further.
By this morning, i saw an increase of at least 20% on my CTR. So, that just means i’ve not been using the right ads size nor placed them correctly. Well, this is also partly due to the fact that i was using some ads plugins which allowed me to place the ads in-posts. I got lazy and paid the price for it. Google now says i cant have them under my title and now, they go back up at the top.
Okay, you win Google. They will stay there until you decide to change your TOS. I also added the required Privacy Policy to most of my blogs that serve Adsense ads. I said most cos i have like tonnes of blogs and havent had the time to add them in yet. I will have to spend another day concentrating on this task alone. Dont screw around with Google’s TOS. You’ll just risk having your account banned.
