I went through my hospital bill and got a shocked at the final figure. Now, i only went in for food poisoning and was slapped with a bill that amounts to rm2749.10!!! If not for medical insurance, this would have to come out of my own pocket. Dont you think that this is just too much. Now, i’m in full support of our government’s move to try to regulate private hospital charges.

Now, you may think that you are insured and you dont have to care much about how they charge, right. WRONG!!! have you given a thought as to how much higher premium we are paying now compared to many years ago. This is all due to all the ridiculous charges by those private hospitals. And do you know that if you are claiming insurance, your doctor can only visit you once a day?

To make up for the loss, he is charging much higher for less work. So, it’s all down to business and lots of paperwork. Your doctor must now know what to claim for to maximise his earnings. Anyway, there’s nothing much that i can do about it. In fact, i’m thinking of topping up my medical coverage to hedge against future rising medical costs. So, if you’ve not bought any medical insurance, i suggest you consider getting one.
