I went to check out the Nokia N82 latest price last Sunday night. Priced currently at rm1999, it’s dropped more than rm600 off it’s launch price. I’m getting tired of my Nokia N73 and wanted something to replace it. It’s only a standby phone for me, as my Maxis card with unlimited broadband is in the O2 Zinc. I use it mainly to snap pictures and update my blogs on the go. In other word, i flickr-blog with it as all my blogs are flickr-enabled.
My criteria for a standby phone is it must not breach the 2k mark. Has a good standby and talk time. Camera function must be quick and produces great image quality. Has built-in wifi. And it’s speakers must also be loud enough as i use a waistpouch. Both the Nokia N73 and the Nokia N82 functions are quite similar except for the upgrade in camera pixel count, and of course the xenon flash, wifi and GPS which i have no use for. And i have read lots of positive Nokia N82 reviews.
I still feel the latest price of Nokia N82 in Malaysia is still quite high. Ideally, it should be around rm1.8k. Give it another two months or so, i bet the price of the Nokia N82 will drop to that level. And by third quarter, i hope the Nokia N82 will breach rm1.5k. I’ll definitely be trading in my Nokia N73 if i were to buy Nokia N82. Eventhough it may not worth much, the couple of hundred bucks will get me a new bluetooth headset for Nokia N82 and also a storage card.

I’m hoping the credit crunch will drive the prices down even further.
