Is a plasma mount necessary?

I went to SenQ this evening as i want to take a look at the new Sharp LCD tvs. The salesman there claims that it’s far better than the Sony LCD tv and is priced lower too. Tempting eh, but i need to compare the image quality before i buy one back. You know, these are the things you buy once and use forever till it conks out, lol. He recommends us a very functional plasma mount and told us to consider getting one when we’ve decided on which model to buy. Is a plasma mount necessary? Hmmmm, should i just place it on the counter top or mount it onto the wall with the plasma mount? I’ll leave that to hubby to decide later. What about you?
