The stupid email notification again

My Nokia N73 is giving me major headaches again. The email notification is really driving me nuts. Sometimes it beeps after i restarted my phone, most of the time it does not. I really dont know what’s wrong with the phone anymore. It’s been like this since the day i upgraded its firmware. If this is what’s giving the phone a problem, i guess there’s not much that i can do about it except to trade it in for a different model.
