No more Celcom data package for me

I’ve terminated the Celcom line today and saved myself Rm120 in data charges alone. I hardly ever use it. Now that i’ve subscribed another sup line for the O2, i may sign up for a discounter data package for a start and see how the usage i like. Hubby doesnt really use that much data except to check his emails every once in a while. Even if he finished the 25Mb in less than a month’s time, the rest will still be charged at a very nominal rate. But i wont know how much he uses until he tries it out.

    greetings,
Just wanted to ask if you could give an aprox speed differences and band width, signal availabilty, stability, average speeds for maxis and celcom hsdpa/3g/edge services.
ie; the actual the customer like you are receiving not what they say on their web sites.
I am thinking of getting a celcom 3g modem. for net browsing and download.
If you could make any suggestions it would really help.

    Thanks

What they advertised on the sites is the max speed you’ll be getting if you have the coverage for your area. I dont like Celcom as the speed is low where i live compared to when i use Maxis. I do get quite good signal in town areas tho. But i dont to town just for the speed. But as a casual user for general browsing and downloading, then i guess speed really isnt a factor. Their rm68 package would suffice. Upgrade if you feel that’s it’s too slow for you, provided you can get the speed they are charging you for where you live. I stick with Maxis as i’ve been with them forever and their lines are more stable. I still use my Maxis sim card with the Celcom Huawei modem till now and i can see the transfer rate. Or you can try the new 4G rollout. Too bad it’s not available here :( Hope this help and thanks for dropping by.
