Sudoku addiction

How come so many people like to play Sudoku? I have one on my phone and it’s giving me headaches. It was pre-installed. I’ve already set it to the lowest and easiest level and yet i cannot complete even a game. Is there a bug in the game or what. I dont have problem solving those online ones. Nowadays, i also see Sudoku handheld machines at bookshops. Is it really that addictive? Goes without saying numbers and i just dont go along well, lol.
