A mess free desk speaks volumes for professionalism. It gives the impression that you are on top of things, inspires you and makes you feel in control. Here are some tips for a clutter-free workstation:
1) Remember the number “Six” - An efficient workstation needs only 6 key items; “In”, “Out” and “KIV” or “FILE” boxes, a trashbin , a calender and a contacts.
2) The system - If you dont have a system to manage or maintain your newly organised environment, you’ll slide back into your old ways. Create a system and stick to it religiously.
3) Make a date - Set a fixed date each week to reorganise the chaos that’s ensued since your last clearup. Not only your deak, but your computer too.
4) Thrash it - A result of hoarding mess. Think you might need it later? If you havent used it in the last 6 months, then it’s safe to thrash it.
