Take your kids with you when you do your grocery shopping to let them have a hang of what things cost. Explain to them why you choose Brand X over Brand Y. You can teach them the importance of the cost per unit of an item rahter than the selling price of the item.
Explain to them the savings that can be made during bargains and offers, and the importance of having a shopping list drawn out. Also take the opportunity to stop them from impulsive buying or buying something that’s not on the shopping list if it’s not a needed item.
