I’m not in a lovey-dovey mood right now. The “dear” refers to recent price hikes as far as foodstuffs are concerned around CNY. Everything’s so expensive. A decent “reunion dinner” for 6 persons at home can cost somewhere between Rm200 - Rm300. Everything from poultry, vegetables to seafood is at an all time high.

But i bet if we were to eat out, it would have cost even more. So, it’s still a better option to dine at home. Moreover, that’s what “Reunion dinners” are for. To bond with family members, to share what each other has done for the past 1 year. To be happy and merry rather than another opportunity to show off how much one can afford to spend for that one single dinner, isnt it.
