Pamper your customers

Do you know that if you pamper your customers, they buy more from you. And if you dont, they’ll walk to the next shop? Take for example, when we buy clothes, especially mens’ shirts, shops or departmental stores dont normally hang each and every piece in all sizes on the racks. So, half the time, they have to dig out a piece or from their store.
One day, i was helping hubby select some new shirts at a new place. As usual, the ones i picked do not have his size on the racks. I asked the salesgirl to go and them out whilst we try on others. When she took them out of the wrapper, it was all wrinkly and unappealing. I told her to give them a quick iron as i saw an ironing board right next to the changing room. She refused to; saying we’re trying on only. Fine.
We went over to a different counter and there was a girl ironing some shirts to put on display. We picked out a few shirts and asked her to iron them for hubby to try out; she happily obliged. I guess she understood that ironed shirts looks much better on a person who’s trying them out. Yes, that’s the reason i asked them to iron it in the first place.
How can a wrinkled shirt straight out of its wrapper ever look good on a person, you tell me. If the other girl had put in some extra effort by giving those expensive shirts a quick iron (and a quick iron was all i asked for), we wouldnt have walked over to this counter and bought half a dozen shirts from this girl. So, loss of sale = loss of commission. Serves her right.
