Funny why banks want to issue prepaid credit cards. I have a feeling these are for a targetted segment of consumers which cannot and do not qualify for a credit card. So, they issue prepaid ones for them. Well, not to say that i’m against it, but c’mon… if you’re not just qualified for one, then let it be. Why want to show off to others that you have one in your wallet. At the rate credit card debts are on the rise, having one is no longer a form of good financial status these days also.

Some may argue that it’s a good way for parents to control their childrens’ spending, but gimme a break. What happened to good old hard cold cash? Or they can just give them a supplemetary card and set a limit on it. It’s still the same. So, peeps… if you really do not qualify for one, geting a prepaid one also does not elevate you to the status and image you want to portray.
