It’s now official that bloggers will have to disclose on their blog or somewhere in their posts if they are writing paid posts or paid reviews. Companies like PayPerPost have issued guidelines on how to do this in their blog. To summarise things, here are the 3 guidelines:
1. Credit the advertiser, not PayPerPost
2. Keep the money out of it
3. Keep it simple
Having a sitewide disclosure helps make the motives of your blog and posts transparent to the user. These aren’t rules, simply guidelines and ideas to assist bloggers when dealing with disclosure on a per post basis. Therefore, allowing your readers to understand the potential influences and relationships behind the content of your blog.
